BYE LAW 1 - PLAYING ACCESS AND RESTRICTED HOURS OF PLAY

1.1 Five Day and Six Day Members;
Except as specified under Club Rule 4 when playing as a Team Member in an official inter club event, Five Day Members and Six Day Members may only play on non-permitted days subject to the following conditions:
(i) Having paid the appropriate Green Fee (equivalent to the Temporary Member playing with a Member Green Fee) for the day of play
(ii) Members may not avail of playing on non-permitted days on more than 6 occasions in total, in any continuous 12 month period. Play over either 18 holes or 9 holes will be deemed as one occasion
(iii) Members choosing to pay the appropriate Green Fee are not permitted to have their name entered in any designated competition time slot or enter or play in any competition (including Opens) on that day.
(iv) In the summer season when 18 hole tee booking is operational, play may not commence before 3.30pm on a Saturday except at the discretion of Council.
(v) In the winter season when the two-tee start timesheet is in operation, play will only be permitted on the non-competition nine holes and the reservation of times is only permitted within 48 hours of the intended tee time, to allow permitted members the opportunity to book consecutive nine holes if they so wish.

1.2 Members Under 18; Junior, Juvenile and Cadet members are not permitted to tee off between 5:00pm and 7:00pm on weekdays and/or before 3:30pm on Saturdays, except at the discretion of Council. Additionally, Members Under 18 are not permitted to commence play on the course after 6:00pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, unless they are accompanied by an adult Playing Member.
Cadet members must always be in the company of an adult.

1.3 Veteran Members; on payment of the appropriate fee are permitted to play (under Club Rule 4) on the course Monday to Friday but are not eligible to enter competitions.

1.4 Temporary Members; Temporary Members are subject to the following restrictions:
(i) Temporary Members shall not be eligible to enter or play in any Club Competition at any time.
(ii) Playing with a Member: Subject to the times defined within these Bye-Laws, playing Members may introduce a maximum of 3 Temporary Members at a reduced fee but only if the Member plays with the Temporary Member(s). Juvenile members may introduce 3 Temporary Under 18 Members but may only introduce one adult at any time. The Member is responsible at all times for the behaviour of the Temporary Member(s) during the visit.
(iii) The same Temporary Member may not be introduced on more than 6 occasions in total, in any period of twelve months, unless the Temporary Member is an affiliated member of another recognised Golf Club. Compliance with this limitation is the responsibility of the introducing member(s).
(iv) Members may not sign in visitors when playing in a Society or before 3.30pm on a Saturday.
(v) In the summer season when 18 hole tee booking is operational, a Temporary Member may not commence play before 3.30pm on a Saturday except with the express permission of Council. Temporary Members are not permitted to commence play after 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, unless playing with a member.
(vi) In the winter season when the two-tee start timesheet is in operation, play will only be permitted on the non-competition nine holes and the reservation of times is only permitted within 48 hours of the intended tee time, to allow permitted members the opportunity to book consecutive nine holes if they so wish.

1.5 Courtesy Members; Honorary Officials of Golf Ireland and Captains, Chairpersons, Presidents, Immediate Past Captains, Honorary Secretaries and Honorary Treasurers of Golf Clubs may enjoy the facilities of our Golf Course free of charge in accordance with Club Rule 4.

1.6 All Players; Remembrance Day: As a mark of respect, Lisburn Golf Club will be closed on Remembrance Sunday until 12:00 noon.

BYE LAW 2 - COMPETITIONS & MATCHES

2.1 On Saturdays and specific closed competition days, Playing Members who are non-competitors must not commence play until the last competitor in a designated competition time, has commenced play. On all other days throughout the year, non-competitors must give way on the course to competitors playing in any competition or match authorised by Council.

2.2 All competitions are governed by the Rules of Golf and the Local Rules as printed on the current Score Card, or Fixture Booklet, or posted on the Notice Board. Handicaps are governed by the World Handicapping System (WHS)

2.3 Competition entry fees, when appropriate, must be paid before starting unless the Professional’s shop is closed, in which case, players must pay their fee immediately on completing their round.
Failure to comply with this Bye-Law will result in disqualification.

2.4 Both players and partnerships in any draw will be responsible for the match arrangements. When matches have not been played by the stipulated date, both players and partnerships will be disqualified unless they have made prior arrangements with the Competition referee.

2.5 Any dispute regarding play shall be decided by the relevant Competitions Committee following whose decision an Appeal may be made to Council. Council's decision shall be binding unless an Appeal be made to the Rules of Golf Committee of the Royal and Ancient Club of St. Andrews, and upheld.

2.6 To obtain an initial Handicap Index, a Playing Member must submit acceptable scores from a minimum of 54 holes. Acceptability of scores is as per Rule 2 in WHS Rules of Handicapping

BYE LAW 3 - COURSE ETIQUETTE

3.1 During the summer season when one starting tee is in operation Members must not commence play from the 10th tee unless the 9th green and fairway are clear.

3.2 Subject to Bye-Law 2.1 above, all groups have equal privileges on the course, provided they keep their places on the course. The term "group" includes a single player.

3.3 After playing or exiting from a bunker, players must smooth out all club and foot marks.

3.4 Tee markers, direction indicators, etc. must not be moved except under the Rules of Golf, after which they must be replaced. Except on teeing grounds, any turf cut up by a stroke must be replaced.

3.5 Players must ensure that when laying down bags or the flagstick, damage is not done to the putting green. After players have holed out, any damage to the putting green made by the ball or the player must be carefully repaired.

3.6 Marking the position of the ball on the putting green by scratching the surface of the green is not permitted.

3.7 Members are required to read and abide by course notices placed by the Greens and/or Competitions Committees.

3.8 Practicing is prohibited on any part of the course other than the designated practice areas and must practice in the specified direction within the areas.

3.9 White tees are reserved for designated competitions only. General play shall be from the Yellow, Red or Green tees.

BYE LAW 4 - GOLF SOCIETIES

4.1 Groups of more than 12 golfers which include visitors will be deemed to be Societies. These groups will not be permitted to play without prior booking through the Club Office and they will be charged at agreed Society rates.

4.2 On Open Days, Fund-raising Sundays and Charity Sundays, Societies and groups acting like Societies will NOT be accepted.
No person will be allowed to book for more than 3 Fourballs which include Visitors.

BYE LAW 5 - GENERAL

5.1 Dogs are strictly prohibited from being brought on to any part of the Club property. (Guide dogs excepted)

5.2 No Member shall purchase balls from any unauthorised person.

5.3 Subject to prevailing course conditions and the direction of the Greens Committee, Motorised buggies are permitted on the course but must be operated in accordance with the following Club documents: "General Policy for the Operation and Use of Motorised Golf Carts" and "General Terms and Conditions for the Management and Hire of Motorised Golf Carts.
